The Lettuce Dance Band
We are an
informal band of amateur musicians who enjoy folk dancing, especially dances
originating from the Balkan countries, Israel and Greece. We belong to the
international dance group in Townsville, the music adds to our enjoyment of the
dancing and social activities. We perform at the group's dance parties, which are held several times a year, and sometimes
other members join us to sing a few songs. We also perform at private
parties and regularly busk in Townsille's Cotter's Market.
The founding members of LDB are
Bronia (piano accordion), Nanette (English concertina) and Philippa (flute). Our first performance was on 16
June 2007. Jacqui (percussion) and Brian (mandolin) now play with the
band.
